JourneyLite

May 15, 2008 no comments

Besides having a name that I really like, JournyLite is a website to help those people considering lap band surgery. They offer programs custom tailored for the people they work with, from helping them decide if lap band is right for them to find the perfect lapband doctor to perform the procedure. As well as after surgery follow up, that is specifically put together with your success in mind. They even have free seminars in five cities that anyone can enroll in to learn more. Looking around I find the site quite informative, and recommend it for anyone interested in Lap Band Surgery.

The cake heist, (very) short story by moi.

May 14, 2008 2 comments

And then I walked down to the shop on the corner - stark naked this was - and tossed a brick through the window, with “I ate you’re husbands shit!” written on paper, rubber banded around it. The housewife stormed across the way to my flat and pounded until the neighbours let her in. “Noone get’s my husbands shit but me!” she shouted, and stabbed my roommate, for I signed the letter with her name.

She was quite distraught, and promptly picked up the dead body, and body in hand tossed herself over the balcony railing to the street below, landing on a small fat child carrying a cake home to his mother. Seizing the opportunity, I rushed down the stairs and grabbed the bag the cake was in an hurried back into my bedroom, gorging the night away. It was a very constructive day to say the least.

Electronic Headache man!

no comments

So about eight years ago, I had brain surgery. It was a big old fun thing, and nothing is wrong with me anymore, not that I even know what was wrong - too confusing! Malformed vein or something. Anyhoo, I was only left with two side effects - an insanely rude left side, and many many headaches.

The headaches can be annoying, but when I get them, of course I take something for them or whatever, but is it odd that the only thing that ever actually gets rid of these stupid headaches, at least temporarily until the tylenol or whatever kicks in, is loud, pounding electronic music? It seems to me a little counter intuitive, but whatever. I just find it strange, and am bored, so I wrote a bit about it.

Frontier(s)!

no comments

Ok now, this movie looks good. Like, really good. I just watched the trailer - and Axes! Meat Packing places! Blood! Guts! It looks like a movie I’d love, being a lover of those types of movies. “For those on the run their are fates worse than what they run from.” Love the tagline! It it about Criminals? If not, what are they running from that crazy guy with an axe would be worse? I don’t know, but I’d love to see it. Seriously, it looks great. (although I must say this, as I do with most movie websites - I hate the website! Too much flash that you can’t skip. A pet peeve of mine.)

UnknownI just checked the select theater listings and it’s sad though that the movie apparently won’t be coming to theaters anywhere near me. I hope a movie channel picks it up, or maybe it gets put on Fearnet on demand. ’cause I’m always in the mood for a good scary movie, and this one, as I said, looks really good.

Anyhoo, I’ve been ranting so long I haven’t even told you the name! Frontier(s), and it’s unrated, which has supposedly caused a bit of controversy, but I don’t really know more. Other than controversy can be good for movies like this. Makes ‘em creepier, I suppose.

Yesterday

no comments

Yesterday was mothers day - so happy mothers day, mothers!

Yesterday was also a lame-o “Mother’s day walk” up in florence. The museums were open, and blahblahblah, and all that sucked. The real fun was up the hill at Notre dame, though barely anyone bothered to catch the trolley up there to see the nuns play music, and have a hat competition. I suppose to some it was lame, but not me. Hats and Nuns! Loved it! The nun band was called “Nun like us.” Genius. They were very marvelous.

It’s eight o’clock in the morning, I should be off now.

Credit Cards Club

May 9, 2008 no comments

Credit cards. Icky little things, that I really truly hate. But whatever, can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em. In some ways you need them, in some ways they are evil. But when you need them, which one is right? I’ve known people who’ve gotten royally screwed by some cards, and people who have had nothing but good experiences with others. I suppose the best thing to do would be to see what other people say about cards, and try and find the best one for you. CreditCardsClub.com can help aide you in your decision, from info on all sorts of cards separated into categories, to credit cards rating. Get something in the mail about a card, or hear about it from someone else? It’s easy enough to go to their site and read all about the card you’re interested in.

Nude protests are my favorite kind

May 8, 2008 one comment

A soldier posed nude in playgirl, and calls it a political protest. Like many things, I believe nude protests are the best kind. It always gets people’s attention. From Raw Story.

Zamudio posed for Playgirl wearing nothing but an American flag draped over his shoulders. “I want to change the meaning of what the American flag is to the people,” he explains. According to ABC, Zamudio “says he also got naked to show his disgust for the Patriot Act, which he says strips away Americans’ freedoms.”

However, another veteran interviewed by ABC found the photos an insult to the military. “It’s a dishonor to everybody else in the service,” Craig Northacker told ABC.

Stripping in Playgirl because the Patriot Act strips freedoms! Brilliant, says I!

Triscents Home Makeover semifinals

no comments

A while ago I posted about this lovely contest put on by Renuzit Triscents in which they are giving away a twenty thousand dollar home makeover to the winner of a vote. Users will vote for their favourite submission, and the winner will get the money for the makeover!

Personally, I’d have to say I enjoyed number seven quite a bit. I’ll admit, I haven’t finished watching all of them - yet. But so far, I like theirs quite a bit. They got the whole family involved. From the Mother to the littlest daughter. And they managed to make a nice little video telling their story, and showing how the product can help transform their house. Beautiful house on the outside (really, watch the video. I love their house’s exterior so very much) and, with the help of TriScents, beautiful-er on the inside. (beautiful-er is a lovely made up hyphenated word!)

Anyhoos - I’m going to keep checkin’ out the finalists, and after I view ‘em all I’ll vote for my favorite. And so can you! Simply visit the semi-finalist gallery, then create an account (you can sign up for information on triscents as well as offers there, too) and then once you’ve viewed the submissions, you too can vote.

Don’t take my mind on a trip

no comments

I love that song so very much! I hope Boy George sings it on his tour. And hopefully someone will record it for me, as unless he adds a date a bit closer, I won’t be able to see him. So sad! Closer than Colorado, Georgie! But I am totally glad he’s coming over for a tour - it brings up hopes that there will be more dates at a later time. I’d love an Omaha or Lincoln, Des Moines or Kansas City date. I’d totally travel, even if I had to rob a bank. I’d rob a bank now, if I was a loser, just to head off to England for Nag Nag Nag’s last night, and George’s revival of the twin. God I hope someone records it, I’ll be dying to see the Twin back!
